Geocache Description:

This cache is located along the Ontario Pathways trail system. The terrain rating is for the distance from the given parking.

The Ontario Pathways is a well maintained trail that was an old railroad bed. As you walk or bike along the trial you will see remnants of this railroad bed including ties, bits of coal, culverts and even benchmarks.

Anthracite is a hard compact variety of mineral coal that has a high luster. You may see some pieces of this along the trail at some places. When you are walking along this section of the trail you will cross some fairly new bridges. There are several places where you will see a lot of moss cover railroad ties or dead trees. Some deer trails cross the trails and you may also see some stumps of trees that were chewed down by beavers. There is also an Old Pin Style benchmark on the bridge nearby. See Related Web Page for details. You will be looking for a cylinder container about 2 inches diameter and 4 inches long.

Please bring you own pen or pencil.
