Part of the Leap Day cache 2012. A quick magnetic Nano in an obvious place! Be careful of the traffic on this busy road. A quiet side road is available to park on. The smaller east-west road is a beautiful and quiet cycle in the summer and you can go west along Cycle Route 1 towards Forres. We usually cut off early and cycle into Roseisle forest.
National Cycle Route 1 (Dover to Shetland, Along East Coast)
One thousand "Millennium Mileposts" made from cast iron were donated by the Royal Bank of Scotland to mark the creation of the National Cycle Network, and these are found along the NCN routes throughout the UK. There are four different types, this one being a “ROWE TYPE” (designed by Andrew Rowe) – based upon the nautical and industrial heritage of his native Swansea and can have up to four directional fingers.
