Geocache Description:



The Lake Nevin trail is one of the more popular walks in Bernheim and for good reason. The 1.3 mile loop around the 32 acre lake will take you past the arboretum’s conifer and magnolia collection, through a grass savanna, and over a cypress swamp. This relatively flat walk has a combination of paved and gravel surfaces that is suitable for all age groups. There is one small somewhat steep section of trail to negotiate near the cypress swamp so if you think you might have a problem with this I would recommend walking the loop clockwise. There are benches located around the lake for resting and admiring the view.
You are looking for a large bison tube hidden about 40 feet off the Lake Nevin trail.
This cache placement has been approved by Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest.  
For more information about Bernheim Arboretum And Research Forest  including current operating hours.  There is no admission fee at Bernheim on Monday through Friday.  On Saturday & Sunday there is a $5 fee per passenger car, or motorcycle.
