Geocache Description:

A cache along a meandering forest path above The Rock. The hide would make a good place for a woodland bungalow!

This cache is placed along a quiet, serene trail above the waters of Spring Creek as it runs northeast into the canyon. High above The Rock on the hillside, this area is accessible from two routes, one shorter but more difficult, the other longer but over level terrain.

For the quicker (?) find you will need to park at the Rock road Blue Bridge parking area, find someway to ford the creek, then power up the hill to the hide. There is a well established trail indicted on the map, but the blue bridge is not open yet to travel so you'll have to figure out the crossing yourself.

For the longer, more peaceful (and certainly dryer) approach, park at the top of Shiloh road at the SGL parking lot and follow an old field road to where it bends north. There you'll find an old Rockview Prison sign and looking east, a forest path that follows the southern ridge of the canyon straight to the cache.

While you're in the area check out the bluffs overlooking Spring creek and listen for the tap tap tap of birds hunting insects in the trees. Oh, and bring a flashlight.
NOTE:As with any Game Land cache, please wear blaze orange when searching or hunt this on Sundays.
