Geocache Description:

Iron Ore Knob is the highest point along the 1 1/2 mile Iron Ore Hill Loop trail.  Topographic maps show the top of the knob as being 900 feet in elevation above sea level.  The nearby High Point Loop trailhead sign indicates the sister knob on that trail is the highest point in Bernheim but topographic maps show that knob's elevation as also being 900 feet in elevation.  Which leads me to believe that if it is higher it must be by just a very few feet.  At any rate both knobs are well worth the visit.

Iron Ore Hill Loop Trail

Iron Ore Hill Loop Trail named for the pig iron that was produced in this area in the early to mid 1800's. From 1830 to 1840 Kentucky ranked third in Iron production.  The trees in these woods were cut down to provide fuel for the making of Iron in the nearby furnaces.

You are looking for a small camouflaged RX container hidden just off the Iron Ore Loop Trail near the top of the knob.
