This series of caches can be done either individually or as a walk of approximately 1.5 miles, taking in two attractive parks and a stretch of the Grand Union Canal. The route follows the Uxbridge section of the Trail of Discovery.
The site was originally a memorial park which Kate Fassnidge created for her late husband in the gardens of their Uxbridge home in the 1920s. She handed it over to the Council, and it became a picturesque area for recreation and relaxation, with regular musical events were held at the bandstand.
After some decline in the quality of the site during the 1990s, a Management Advisory Group was formed. Improvements were made and now the Park is flourishing and offers a bowling green, tennis courts and a number of horticultural features such as shrub beds, ornamental bedding, herbaceous plants and mature trees.
Park is unlocked every day at 9a.m.
January, February, November & December locked at 4p.m.
March and October locked at 5p.m.
April locked at 6p.m.
September locked at 7p.m.
May, June, July & August locked at 8p.m.
Opening times may be varied without warning
