Geocache Description:

A puzzle box cache, initially placed in time for the Scottish Geocaching Quiz. And it's a proper puzzle box this one - if struggling to open a wee box for a while is not your thing I'd suggest giving this one a wide berth!

The Eye of Horus

An ancient Egyptian artifact has been stolen from the home of reclusive millionaire Sir Newton Grange in Midlothian.

Thieves broke in while Sir Newton and his family were not at home although it appears they were disturbed and beat a hasty escape. But not before they made off with what Sir Newton calls the prize of his collection, the mysterious Eye of Horus.

A small black box with mystical markings, the Eye has puzzled scholars for years as they try to find a way to open the box to see what riches lie inside. Sir Newton believes the markings are the key to opening the box but states that a terrible curse will fall on anyone using 2lb blunt instruments or knives in their attempts.

Sir Newton, whose family crest consists of four chevrons, has offered a reward for any information posted on this site.

The Eye is believed to have been stashed locally and your findings are awaited with keen interest, should you be brave enough to take on the curse of the Eye of Horus...

Good luck!
