Geocache Description:

The National Trust's Roseberry Romp

This series of caches will take you on a circular walk around Roseberry Topping of around 5 miles. Some caches are small and well hidden, while other are large with plenty of room for swaps.

The National Trust is a charity that protects special places in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, for ever, for everyone

This cache is hidden in Cliff Ridge Woods. Today it's a peaceful and tranquil place to be, but it wasn't always this way. From the late 17th century until 1918 the whinstone that forms Cliff Ridge was extensively quarried. It was transported down the slope by an arial runway system, the remains of which can still be see today in the woods.

This is a small cache, so some room for swaps, travelbugs or geocoins.
