A series of caches to suit all abilities some easy some very tricky.
This one is quite easy, now you have got a feel for the North Downs Way, the container is a small pale blue pot. Please take time to enjoy some of the fantastic views along this stretch of the path.
These caches are placed in a Site of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSI), known as The Wouldham to Boxley Escarpment. The woodland in which the caches are placed are mainly Beech and Yew with fantastic wildlife. The caches are placed with kind permission from Natural England, who manage the SSSI's and Mr Atwood, the landowner. Please note that contrary to previous listing, NO PARKING is available at the farm, please find suitable alternative parking ensuring you do not block the road or field access.
I have agreed with Natural England that anyone doing these caches would be kind enough to take a carrier bag and collect any litter along the way or near the cache sites, this would be really helpful in maintaining these SSSI's and your help is appreciated.
The area is popular with walkers, cyclists and off road motorbikes, who enjoy some of the extreme terrain here. Therefor care must be taken to avoid them if possible.
The walk between #5 & #6 is fairly straightforward.
Please be aware that some of the caches in this series are extreme and need to be treated as such. The terrain can be severe and hazardous and all due care should be taken. Your safety must take priority over reaching the cache location. All responsibility is yours to assess the dangers envolved. Be safe and enjoy.
