Geocache Description:

A small black round container with a log only so need a pen.

As a note is not enough to deter cachers and I can't see how to leave another note in reply to latest DNF, I will disable or archive or whatever it is I have to do.
Cheers.

PLEASE NOTE - SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE :) - THE CACHE IS NEARBY BUT NOT NEXT TO THE TOILET BLOCK SO THE FENCE MAY NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE BUT I WON'T KNOW UNTIL I CAN GET UP THERE TO FIND OUT.

According to the last finder, "there seems to be a giant makeover going on with these buildings so the area is fenced off and can't be accessed".

I won't disable this cache until I find out if this is a minor or major update on the building as the fence may only be for a week or two.

The toilet is a necessity that we often try to ignore, sometimes in the hope we can hold on just that little bit longer.

The long drop dunny is the first toilet I remember.

I also remember the fear associated with it being way down the back yard, full of spiders and the occasional snake.
Many a child (and no doubt adults too) piddled on the ground in the middle of the night risking a bite on the bum by a passing snake rather than enter that hideous lean to with the foul smell of Phenyle attaching itself to the nostrils for hours.

The city slickers had a wondrous system whereby a Night Man came in the wee small hours taking away the used pan and replacing it with a clean one, still smelling of Phenyle though.
The Night Man hoisted the pan onto his shoulder which was protected by a sugarbag to catch the slops and placed it on the horse drawn cart, out of our sight and mind.
We all still had the torn sheets of newspaper held together on string though.

Bravo for the inventor of toilet paper!

Next was the outdoor dunny closer to the house, with a patterned cast iron water cistern high above our heads which noisily filled and emptied by pulling the chain. Oh joy!
Some of these still abide in old houses and great when working outdoors :)

Now we have the modern indoor toilet which we are pleased to use at any time of day and night, with the softest paper :)

But travel around the Aussie bush and what do we see?

The Long Drop Dunny!

Wherever you may be let your water go free :)

Edited: the cache is not near the toilet block entrances but muggles come and go to the art gallery nearby.
