Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. This is an offset cache that requires cunning & an appetite for caching! The cache is a tribute to those early purveyors of fine spices, coffee, & rum who would rather resale than grow!

The romantic period for pirates is considered to be during the Elizabethan Era. The non-English world shuddered when the likes of Sir Francis Drake or Sir Walter Raleigh sailed into view. Often sporting the Skull & Cross Bones Flag as a means of intimidation, there were many variations of the Pirate Flag as each Pirate sought their own identity. They roamed the High Seas from Port Royal (the Capital of Acadia) to the Caribbean and ports of call in between. Spanish Galleons loaded with riches for the Spanish King were the prey of choice! Many a galleon was seized & many a pirate became wealthy as well as infamous. The bottom of the Atlantic & Caribbean ocean are littered with Spanish doubloons!

So enjoy a picnic from your days of pillaging & plundering. Don’t be afraid to snap a picture or two of you enjoying the moment’s peace. Remember the spices & fine teas came from exotic lands.

For your additional enjoyment, there are gift cards to the ports of call of a well-known Canadian Pirate, Sir Tim Horton & a locale pirate, Black Bob Whitney.
