The Gemini was originally launched in May 1978, as part of the Cleveland Tankers fleet.
As of 2005 the Gemini has sailed as one of Algoma Central’s fleet and renamed the Algostar.
The boat is a oil tanker that until recently was the largest on the Great Lakes. The Boat is just over 432 feet in length and has a maximum load capacity of 75,298 barrels or 12,500 tons. It is powered by a 2 V16 cylinders, 2,610 horsepower diesel engines.
