The Edwin H. Gott was originally launched in July 1978, a part of the OSS Great Lakes fleet.
The boat is a straight deck that has been converted to a self un-loader with the longest boom on the Great Lakes at 280 feet.
The Boat is 1004 feet in length and has a maximum load capacity of 74,100 tons. It is powered by a 19,500 horsepower diesel engine, the largest on the lakes.
