The Halifax was originally launched in December 1962 with the name Frankcliffe Hall, a part of the Hall Corporation of Canada fleet.
It became a part of the Canada Steamship Lines fleet in 1988 and renamed Halifax.
The boat is a wheelhouse forward straight deck self un-loader.
The Boat is just over 730 feet in length and has a maximum load capacity of 24,195 tons. It is powered by a 10,000 horsepower steam turbine engine. This boat was retired April 2011.
