This cache is located at a former British military observation post, built on Crest Hill aka Tai Shek Mo. It overlooks Shenzhen, and even though the trees are a bit taller than when it was in use by the military the views are still really good. The are has changed a lot over the years as can be seen on these photos (scroll down to find the Crest Hill and Fanling Village photos). Gwulo also has a small entry on this site.
This cache is a replacement of an archived cache. The location is the closest one could get to the border before the (partial) opening of the restricted area. Parts of the border area with Shenzhen are still closed for the public, do not enter those areas. The road up Crest Hill and the observation post are public accessible, and outside the restricted area. The actual observation room is above the living quarters; the cache is hidden near there.
After visiting this cache, a taste of Mrs Law's to-fu-fa is recommended ($10 for a bowl of to-fu-fa with unlimited refills).
Getting there:Take minibus 51K from Sheung Shui Station, get off near Ho Sheung Heung. From there walk via the to-fu-fa place and the provided reference points up the hill.
