Geocache Description:

Micro cache in medieval quarters of Vyborg.


Clock tower
The clock tower of former Vyborg cathedral and monastery is one of the oldest buildings of the town. It was firstly erected in 1494 and was rebuilt many times. Chymes were installed on it in 1753. A bell was donated to the monastery in 1793 by Catherine II the Great, this bell rings hourly until nowadays. The monastery was completely destroyed during the Winter war and never restored. The cache is hidden in ruins of the cathedral. Be careful!
