Geocache Description:

Polžjo hišico so višnjegorski grofje podarili mestu.

Sredi križišča stoji največji in najnovejši polž v Višnji Gori.

B = seštevek prve in zadnje cifre letnice v grbu

Točka 8: Cilj

N 45˚ 5A.BCD E 014˚ 4E.FGH

Tako, prilezli ste do konca.

ENGLISH:

For the whole way you should need about 30 minutes. All intermediate stages are accesable by bicycle, but to reach the final location you will have to walk for a few meters. Most of the locations are in the centre of Višnja Gora, just a couple of meters one from another. To reach the final location you will have to walk for about 10 minutes, it is placed outside the settlement. At the final location you have to be more careful, especially with children.

The legend of the Višnja Gora snail:

The snail representing a local legend was added later. The citizens of the town were given a golden snail shell for nursing Venetian doge's son wounded in the Battle of Sisak (1593) by his relatives. Since then, the golden shell was lost, but the legend remained.

Point 1: Kindergarden

You are in front of the Višnja Gora kindergarden named "Polžek". There was a painting of a snail on the kindergarden wall (see picture 1), but sadly it was repainted.

D = number of letters in the name of the Kindergarden (Polžek)l

Point 2: Railway Station

There is a fountain with a snail at the station, unfortunatly the fountain is without water for a long time now.

There is the biggest and the newest snail in the middle of the intersection. I reccomend a night visit, because there are lights changing colors at that snail.

C = the sum of the digits (cross total) of the year that the snail was placed

G = number of letters in the surname of the author of the sculpture

Point 4: Restaurant

There is another snail chained above the entrance. Before the second World War there were seven restaurants in Višnja Gora. Today all of them are closed, you can only get refreshment and snack at swimming pool Višnja Gora.

F = house number of the adress of the restaurant

Point 5: The Small Door

This is the place where the side entrance into City Wall was, that is why it is called the Small Door. At the top of the stairs there is a golden snail.

E = number of stairs leading to the snail devided by three

Point 6: St. Ann's Church

In front of St. Ann's Church there is a statue of snail made by academic sculptor Primož Pugelj. You can also read The Legend of the Višnja Gora Snail in four languages.

H = number of non-slovene languages in which the stora of the snail is written on this monument

Point 7: Coat of Arms
