This Geocache commemorates the Pioneer family of James T. Maddux who founded the community of Wayside, one mile north of Alamosa. This community was part of the stage coach run from Denver, up until the DRGW railroad literally put Alamosa on the map.
The sign in the background states that this farm has been farmed by the same family for over 100 years.
Cache container is a camouflaged match holder.
