Geocache Description:


Event date: 3/18/2012
Event start time: 1:00 p.m.
Event end time: 2:00 p.m.
Event type: Geocaching Meet and Greet
Location: Shelby Farms

This event is open to all cachers, but will take a bit of planning. It will not be as simple as pulling into a parking lot and being at the event. You will need to walk a bit.

There are several ways to get to this caching event, but none of them include driving any closer than one mile from ground zero. It is possible to get to the event from the Northeast by using the Greenline, at least part of the way. It is possible to get to the event from the South by parking under the Wolf River Bridge and using the trail head included as a waypoint. Heck, it is even possible to get to the event from the West by using the Wolf River. Though I wouldn't recommend this method as the river banks near ground zero are rather steep.

Depending on your approach your walk will be between one to two miles each way. Plan on allowing 30 minutes to an hour for the walk. Also plan accordingly with water, bug spray and appropriate footwear.
