This cache is a 7x7 storage container. It is located near Wallis Pond. 1/2 mile walk on trail.
Wallis Pond is named for the family who owned the land prior to selling it to the state to become part of Douglas State Forest. Billy Wallis was killed in an accident while riding his dirt bike on West Street. Billy liked to spend time here. There is a picnic area with a brick fireplace. From the footbridge you can see the giant beaver dam and beautiful waterfall. There are many trails for hiking and people have found amethyst in the riverbeds that flow from the pond.
