The vikings sailed to Vinland and left this stone behind.
Note: Cache is NOT on or around the stone.
I'd like to show you a beautiful rune stone at a very ancient viking settlement area. Read about the area on official signs and then check out the stone.
The inscription reads (in Swedish)
"Torsten och Östen och Nattfare reste stenen efter Finnvid och Olev, Torkel, sina bröder. \ Voro alla \ Vikings söner \ av länsadelsbörd \ läto resa stenen \ Stenkil ristade runorna"
I placed the cache close but NOT on or around the stone. Do not disturb the site!
If one grows tired of ancient history and the weather is foul there is a local vineyard in the vicinity that might be open for a visit.
