Geocache Description:

KCMM #32 - Chillenden

19th May 2012
12:00-15:00

For our 32nd meet I introduce you to the little village of Chillenden. A fair distance from any major roads hopefully this meet will take you out of your normal caching area.

Our venue?

The Griffin’s Head,
Chillenden,
Canterbury,
CT3 1PS

The Griffin’s Head was built during the time of Edward I and was a farmhouse forming part of the estate of John de Chillenden until 1405.
Ales and ciders were brewed for centuries at the property which remained a farm until 1766 when it became the fully licensed Griffin’s Head, serving travellers on the main Canterbury to Deal road.

Any nearby caches?

There is one cache in the area I can recommend The Alektorophobia Challenge It is a bit of a journey from the pub but it is well worth it!
For those of you not wanting to go so far there is part of the Parish Peregrination series nearby which you should be able to make a circular walk of.
But if even that is too far for you there is a church micro almost directly outside the pub!
