Geocache Description:

It looks like we have cached out this cache zone. To give back, we decided that we needed to add a cache or two to the area. Rangers Alpha & Delta spent a couple of days back here hunting javelina. Unfortunately, the piggies never showed. So instead we picked up the last few caches we still needed in the area and decided to place a couple of our own.

While driving past, RD noticed this interesting looking crevice in the side of the canyon. Later we stopped by to explore. Erosion has cut this cool slot into the side of the ridge. You can go into the crack from the bottom and from the top, but if you want to go all the way from top to bottom, you will need a rope. The slot descends/ascends in a series of vertical steps. At least one was too high to safely negotiate without a rope.

But here's the kicker: To get here, you will first need to pass through a very narrow slot canyon in your vehicle. Our Polaris Ranger was just barely narrow enough to squeeze through. I'm not sure that a regular street 4x4 could get through without taking some carnage. Here's a video of the "Narrows" taken on our way back to Camp Creek:
"The Narrows"

Ranger, RZR, Rhino, quad, or dirt bike are the recommended modes of transportation. There's a pullout opposite the crack on the otherwise single-wide trail. You may choose to explore the crack from the bottom before you head for the cache. The cache is located at the top of the crack. After parking, take a short walk south to ascend the "ramp" to the top of the ridge. Ascend carefully. Though there's a lot of loose stuff, the concrete-like rock that the ridge is made of is surprisingly stable. But still be careful.

Just don't think too much about the cache title while you are exploring the crack!
