This quiet clearing on the side of the road was once the location of the Columbus Fire and EMS Department’s Station 15. The Upatoi Post Office was located here as well. The City built a new Fire Station on McKee Road and then moved this station out, lock, stock and…Fire Truck. The Post Office moved to the Upatoi General Store just west of this location. Now all that’s left here is an Outdoor Warning Siren that is used to warn of tornados and other severe weather. If you are looking for this cache on Saturdays at noon then you get to hear it up close and personal when they run the weekly test!
