Spongehead and the Oakland's Hells Angels MC Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

007 and the PI: I am not in the area as much as I used to be. This area needs a permanent container but doing so will probably attract attention. This was an absolute blast!

Geocache Description:

Spongehead and I've been coming to this cemetery for the last seven Memorial Days to help American Legion Post 471 plant flags. During a break on my first Memorial Day, I came across the tombstones of Oakland's Hells Angels members. The history of the Angels is quite colorful and worth checking out on the Internet. I mean, how can you not be curious about a biker named, "The Thug"? While planting flags in 2009, we became aware of a new tombstone amongst the Angels, namely, that of Young Will. This is heart-breaking story of a young man who was senselessly killed, leaving behind a wife and young daughter. While it is not necessary to go in to the cemetery to access the cache, it is worth the trip to see the tombstones. They are decorated with personal items. In addition, on the backs of some tombstones, you will find the names of that biker's spouse. Please stand on the sidewalk, facing the gate. The left-hand gate attaches to a concrete column. To the left of the column is a metal fence. At the base of the fence is a glass eye-dropper replete with a black rubber head. Remove the rubber head and fish out the log. On another important historical note, if you go in the cemetery, please make a trip to Jonestown Memorial on the other side of the cemetery. We need to learn from history or be doomed to repeat it. PS I will archive this should it go missing again. PPS Even though the cemetery was closed today, someone had unlocked the gate and quite a few folks were inside carrying on. Given that it is Father's Day 2021, I guess this makes sense.
