Geocache Description:

The March Triangle Madness (mTm) series includes 144 caches laid out in the high desert juniper forest on BLM land east of the Redmond airport and North Canal, north of the Powell Butte Highway, south of Highway 126 and west of Cavalry/McCaffery road. This property is managed in conjunction with the BIAK Training Center for the Oregon Army National Guard. I have discussed the placement of the caches with BIAK personnel and have been given the green light on their placement. However, they asked that I advise cachers that on the weekends, particularly when there is nice weather, there may be many uniformed muggles in the area doing training exercises.

In April 2023, Bubblegummes downsized this series creating 5 triangles (87 caches). Geo51 and TurtleLP adopted these triangles creating the Ancient Pyramid GeoArt Series. The caches within each triangle are 1/3 of a mile apart. All the containers are the same type and hides are similar.

Bring your own writing stick - No Stickers because they make logs difficult to roll

NOTE: There are numerous parking places and roads in the area. Some are suitable for our Sunday sedan, some require a high clearance 4X4 geomobile.

Ancient Tomb in Chenpo Village

Local residents watch the excavation of an ancient tomb in Chenpo Village, Xiangfan City of central China's Hubei Province May 30, 2006. Over 100 bronzewares and more than 50 jadewares were unearthed from the tomb, said to belong to a noble family of the Warring States Period (BC 403-221).[Xinhua]

The Warring States period (475-221 BC) was an era of division in ancient China lasting 254 years. This period is known for frequent warfare and annexations of various states in the lead up to a larder united China.

A bundle of 21 bamboo slips from the Tsinghua collection dated to 305 BC are the world's earliest example of a two digit decimal multiplication table, indicating that sophisticated commercial arithmetic was already established during this period. Rod numerals were used to represent both negative and positive intergers, and rational numbers, a true positional number system, with a blank for zero dating back to the Warring States period.  Exceprts from Wikipedia and ChinaDaily.com.cn
