LONG DESCRIPTION
Part 2 of the Templestowe Reserve series: primarily designed as a training circuit for the cub-scouts; any smilies gained by members of the jeeking community do so at their own risk; any enjoyment experienced is purely intentional.
"Be Prepared" & Keep our park clean: practice CITO whenever caching.
LOCAL INFORMATION
This marks the training ground of the mighty "Templestowe Dockers". Formed in 1892 they have been residents in this park since the 1930s. They won DVFL Premierships flags in '68, and '73, then moved into the Eastern Football League where they struggled for many years. Recently reinventing their club structure and lineage with younger recruits and ties to local Templestowe Park Primary School Auskick, their investment seems to be paying off. Not only have they rebadged their team with the AFL Freemantle Dockers colours of Teal, Black and White, they have spanky new clubrooms.
So on the HUNT.....
All WPs are actually "Questions to answer" sourced from native environment.
At trail head, grab a doggy-bag and head out on a 'vaguely' Northerly course for 90m or so.
WP1
At the park perimeter fence line, you are looking for a 'cagey clue'. On a product tag for a device from Fresno California (Model 805Y) has the serial number 'abcdef'.
WP2
DISTANCE from Fresno to WP2 is in meters and is 3 digits:(d-c),d,c
BEARING is at the end of the Model number off the FEBCO tag.
Pick a very visible object in the 'rough' direction stated from it. Obstacles or muggles may stop you travelling directly so you may have to modify distance to suit, but a good sight bearing and your distance calculation should make this easy to spot.
(If you remember your maths, multiply the diameter by 1.5 to get the approx perimeter of a semicircle)
WP3
Visual clue based on structure on seasonal signage;
Which team are the Visitors playing?
Convert the teams name to a number using an A=1 cipher
S37'45.(M+P) T/10
E 145'08.(L+L) P/2
WP4
At this point there are two ten digit numbers; one phone one fax.
Only one of the numbers listed will solve coords for GZ.
Use: (03)abcd efgh S37'45.FE(B+G) E 145'08.HAG
One set of numbers will be GZ,
(the other "unrequired" number will be needed to solve TR4, the final part of the park puzzle GC3GY8Q not yet published)
GZ
Here's where caching carries inherent difficulty and risks, you may fall at the the last hurdle because of muggle activity.
Good night and good hunting pack.
