Geocache Description:

A little myth history on the German language. The myth is that back around 1779, the United States voted on which language was going to be the official language. German language lost by one vote. Just think if that was true and it was our official langauge, we would be sprechen Deutsch and on our phones we would have to press one for Deutsch instead of English.

Geburtstagsbräuche und Traditionen

The first German birthday tradition I’d like to share, serves as a warning as well: Never wish a German a happy birthday before their birthday. It is considered bad luck to do so. There are no well-wishes, cards or presents given before a German’s birthday. Period.

On the other hand if you live in certain parts of Austria, it is customary to celebrate your birthday the eve of.

If somebody in Germany invites you out for their birthday, the tab is on them. And don’t try insisting on paying for yourself – it won’t work.

Today is mein Geburtstag! Vielen Dank. What better way for me to celebrate than with a Geburtstag-cache. I wasn't sure it it should list it as a multi or a puzzle cache. I know some don't like puzzle and everything you need to find the final is at wp1.

Some can count to ten in Deutsch. Can you count higher than zehn or Einhundert?
