LLKD-116 Pine Trail Nature Preserve
Although only a small portion of the Paumanok Path, Pine Trail Preserve is truly very important. County Route 111 was originally slated to run all the way to Port Jefferson. When it was decided to end 111 at Manorville the land was transfered to Suffolk County Parks (thank you Assemblyman Engelbright). Had this not become park land there would be long miles of road walking east on Whiskey Road, across William Floyd Parkway into Brookhaven State Park.
