If you arrive during normal operating hours stop in to the info center and say hi to the two ladies. They are very interested in meeting you.
Nice place to stretch your legs. A short walk down the fence will get you there. You will see that you should watch your step at first.
So many rest areas have been closed that to find one is special. This was placed on a special day that only comes around every four years. The container is not average either. To top it all off it can be found in winter but the terrain will rise as the snow level does. Snow shoes may be required at times.
There are mosquito's here big enough to carry small animals and children off so bring spray, head nets and maybe a shot gun, although that might just make them mad.
Please take care in opening and replacing so this can stay for all to enjoy.
This is a great size for those larger travel bugs and swag items.
