QUALICUM MONOLITH
For millennium our earliest ancestors have stood in awe of this monolith, humbled by the mystery of origin. Depicted in cave paintings the monolith has long been admired and worshiped. While the age of it is unknown, it is estimated to be somewhere between 1 to 1.5 million yrs. old with a presumed celestial origin.
First discovered by Europeans in 1792 when Captain George Vancouver sailed up Georgia Strait the monolith was believed to have extraordinary powers. Since its first discovery the location was lost and until recently it's exact location was unknown.
Late in 2010 Dr. Monty Burns with the aid of University of British Columbia mounted a extensive search. Rediscovering it here in the Qualicum area of Vancouver Island. Although research continues you are invited to visit.
While in the area please respect the wishes of researchers.
In no way deface, destroy or remove any part of the monolith.
