Geocache Description:

This is a cache in Arusha National Park.

Turn off at the sign to Obervation Point Small and Big Momella Lakes, follow the path uphill, sit down and enjoy the view!
If you had a B&B at this place you could rightfully call it 'Lakes View'! Turning this way you see Big Momella Lake, looking to the other side you see Small Momella Lake.

Like many others in the African Rift Valley these lakes are relatively shallow and contain a lot of sodium carbonate. They get their water from subterranean sources which supply minerals to the water. These vary from lake to lake, supporting specific algae, which is an explanation for the different colours of the lakes, also meaning they are the home for different birds even if they are separated by only a narrow tongue of land.

Please put the cache carefully back as you found it. A lot of tourists come to this observation point and should have no idea what a treasure is hidden here ;-)
