Letterbox hybrid cache located at an old steel truss bridge near Sandborn, IN. Contains a rubber stamp and ink pad, which are used for stamping your own letterbox logbook if you have one. Sign the logbook and also stamp it with your own signature stamp if you have one.
Please DO NOT remove the stamp or ink pad from the cache, and re-hide as found (or better if it's exposed).
Scorpions are very interesting creatures. They can be found on all continents except Antarctica and there are about 1400 species and subspecies.
They are predators of smaller arthropods and use sensitive hairs on their pincers to help them catch the prey. They then either crush the prey in their claws or inject it with neurotoxic venom from the sting.
Scorpions give birth to live young which ride on their mothers' back for protection until their first molt. Litter size can range from 2-100 depending on species.
Though all scorpions are venomous, only 25 are dangerous to humans. The general rule of thumb is that scorpions with large powerful claws are mostly harmless and species with long slender claws are more likely to be dangerous.
