Geocache Description:

"Standing at the crossroads" was added to the Parnholt series on 12th June 2015 So this is now 4. Parnholt

Start at the car park at Farley Mount (N 51° 03.695 W 001° 25.212). Take the path (which is part of the Clarendon Way) up the hill and take in the stunning 360 degree views at the horse monument (http://www3.hants.gov.uk/countryside/fmcp/monument.htm). Continue on to appreciate the breathtaking views from Frank Crawford’s seat (N 51° 03.649 W 001° 25.667) and then you will leave the Clarendon Way by taking the 'Restricted Byway' path to the left (through the gate blocking vehicle access which is the reason for it being labelled 'restricted'). Here you will be walking alongside some beautiful Beech coppice within Parnholt Wood, underneath which is a carpet of bluebells in the Spring. Stay on the path (which can be very muddy and rutted at times) until you arrive at a clear crossroads. Wildlife abounds on this route including deer and buzzards. The sound of the Skylark is never far away.

You are looking for a small clip-lock container near where these paths meet at a crossroads. There is a log and pen inside, with room for small goodies and TBs.

The Parnholt series on an off-road loop (walk or ride) of just over 7 miles through some fabulous Hampshire countryside (see 1. Parnholt (GC3PXNE)for full details of the series). To find the bonus cache at the end, you need to collect the numbers allocated to letters in some of the cache logbooks on the Parnholt loop (1. to 19.) - not all caches have bonus clues. BYO pen.

Here is a suggested route, which shows other caches you can bag on the way round:

Farley Hard (GCXR86)
Then do Parnholt loop 1 to 4
A quick there and back to bag Up, up and away (GC3DTKK)
If you're up for a further extension then continue on to Church Micro 4878...Farley Chamberlayne (GC4W7TD)
Then backtrack for Parnholt 5 to 13
On the way to Parnholt 14 you can do Chilihouse's Battle of Britain (GC23Q3X)
Then it's Parnholt 14 to 17
You can bag this large one, CWC #22 - Woah thats big.. (GC5568C) on route to 18 and 19....
After which, visit the 'horse monument' listed on the bonus page and do the virtual Farley Mount trigpoint cache Ye Ole Survey Monuments- YSM045 Farley Mount (GC45CC)
Finally, there's the bonus cache Parnholt Bonus (GC3PXX3)
Please replace all caches as found and log any interesting aspects/photos of your walk round.

Please be sure to log the movement of trackables (TBs) or geocoins (GCs) via geocaching.com. It's also helpful, rather than just say 'TB in' or 'GC out' etc, to add its name (or short description - but not the unique tracking number) in your log.
