Remembering Eric's Sunset
A Tribute to Giovanni O. Duca and Car Trek
I started Caching in Janurary 2009 in Napanee Ontario.
One of the First Caches I found was
Eric's Sunset GCJMOH (Now Archived)
This cache was special to our family for a few reasons.
1. It was the closest Geocache to our home
2. It was our introduction to caches hidden rock walls
3. It was one of the Oldest Caches in Napanee
and
4. This is where we learned, it's not about the container, but the location.
I never met Giovanni O. Duca, they stopped caching long before the Coman123 clan
got into the game, but judging by their cache locations, they wanted to take you to a
special location, or send you on a special journey with their Geocache hides.
Yes, most of the time you ended up with a Film canister in your hands at the end
of the day, but you would also be standing in some pretty interesting locations as well.
So Giovanni O. Duca I have decided to keep Eric's Sunset location going for many
future geocachers to come and enjoy this special area.

Because of it's awesome view of Napanee, and beautiful sunsets, Eric's Sunset had been maintained by many local cachers.
Logs dried and replaced from time to time, and a few trips after DNF's to make sure it was still there.
So when I got a call from a buddy of mine telling me the rock flower garden where it was located, had been
leveled by the Town of Napanee, I took a drive up the hill to check it out.
And yes, sure enough, GZ of Eric's Sunset was no longer there.
The Rock wall flower garden has been replaced with a huge blue water tower.
But the View of Napanee, and those Awesome Sunsets are still there, and this is why Eric's Sunset
will live on in this tribute cache.
