Geocache Description:

A little cache on a disused slip road

this slip road used to be the access onto Bluebell Hill (A229). When this road was just a very narrow track, it was impossible for 2vehicles or carriages to pass on the hill. To avoid this situation, at it's two ends were bells. The lower bell and the upper bell. The bell operator would ring the bell to let the other operator know that someone was on the hill. The cache is located just below the Upper bell where there used to be a pub of the same name, ( now closed). The slip road has been closed for many years so traffic isn't an issue.
