Geocache Description:

3rd of 5 caches on the Loch na Davie Circuit

This cache has been placed out by the Arran Cachers for those who visit the Isle of Arran and want that little bit of an extra special location. If you intend to come over to Arran to do this cache or any other, please add in your logs whether it is in good condition, needs new log book or requires maintenance. If you have carried out maintenance on a cache; let us know so we can amend our records for the Arran Caches.
This cache sits on the Loch na Davie circuit, Lochranza. Full details of the walk can be found on: (visit link)
This cache sits on the Bealach at about 408m above sea level. The Bealach sits between Beinn Bhreac and Beinn Tarsuinn. The level area between the high tops of Arran catches a lot of moisture from the hills and feeds the watercourses of three different Glens.

The rocky and level terrain makes navigation problematic and in poor visibility care must be taken. We would recommend any GPS is backed up by the ability to use both map and compass. Do not undertake this walk lightly.

In the winter this can be a challenging walk and can be iced and snow covered and low cloud can hamper navigation at all times of the year.

This cache is designed to provide a handy reference point to your navigation and should allow a welcome breather on the circuit. When placing the cache we encountered numerous deer throughout the route and got very close to a couple of young stags before they were aware of our presence.
