Geocache Description:

Part 2 of our ??? part series on Forgotten Places around Anne Arundel County. Years ago if you stood at GZ and looked around you would've seen something very different. This series is about remembering those places lost to time.

My wife's father talks about this whole area and how much different it looks now. There used to be a farm house close to here and other homes which have been swallowed up by the mall. Bestgate road has undergone extensive changes, the primary one being its terminus north of GZ. Also north of where you're standing, at the current entrance to the mall, used to be Carr's Corner. This picture tells all:

This Esso gas station used to be one of many businesses that sat on this corner. My how things have changed...
