Geocache Description:

This is a quick Tradi at an interesting bridge in Pontebba.
Here was the historic border of Carinthia until the Canal Valley went to Italy after the Treaty of Saint-Germain in 1919.

Very interesting are also the old units, which were used to indicate the distance to Klagenfurt. On one border stone you can see the "Myriameter", which means 10 kilometers. On the other one, you see a very strange definition of "mile". It is not the mile we know today as 1.609 km, but the "Austrian postal mile", which is 7.5859 km

The cache is not located at the border stones, but on the other side of the bridge. Please leave it again exactly as you found it, and take care, that nobody watches you!!
