Geocache Description:

This is a small cache in a camouflage bag that is located on a segment of the Centenary Way between Sandon and Springfield. This stretch runs in-between the busy industrial areas of Springfield Lyons and Sheepcotes.

This footpath existed prior to the creation of the industrial units that now border it, providing a path from the White Hart Cottages down to Cuton Hall. Old maps of the area indicate that the route of this path is largely unchanged since the 1880’s.

From the 1990’s onwards the Sheepcotes farm was converted into a supermarket distribution centre and other industrial units were built on the former Springfield Lyons estate.

This path is generally quite but is used by dog walkers and the odd office muggle seeking fresh air at lunchtime.

The initial contents of this cache (in addition to a pencil and a logbook) are a smiley face badge, a mini highlighter, a racing car, plastic dinosaur, a moody face and a keyring for FTF.
