This cache commemorates the 2012 Alabama Crimson Tide team. The 2012 Tide team entered the penultimate BCS National Championship game ranked #2 and facing another traditional football power, the Notre Dame fighting Irish who were ranked #1. Despite their respective rankings, Alabama entered the game as a 9.5 point favorite according to Vegas odds-makers.

From the outset, Alabama dominated the game by every statistical measure - including score - and coasted to an easy 42-14 win. The ease with which the Tide controlled the game led some Bama fans to resurrect the internet meme of Notre Dame Cookies. this often takes the form of the joke

Q. "How do you make Notre Dame cookies?"
A. "Easy. Place the Fighting Irish in a large bowl and beat soundly for 3-4 hours. Warning: the cookies may be bitter afterwards".
