Waverley station is Edinburgh's main station, with train services to the rest of Scotland and many places in England.
Not far from the cache you can also get a bus to Edinburgh Airport for travelling further afield, or buses to the rest of the city for more local travel.
One day, soon after the year 3000, when the tramworks will be nearing completion, trams will also be available from near here.
The station is currently undergoing major redevoplemt to make it brighter and more accessible. The recently reopened Market Street entrance will give you a taste of the station's future. For further details, see the National Rail website.
Cache is just outside the Market Street entrance to the station, where you have a choice of stairs or lifts to street level. Cross the road at the lights, then follow your GPS to the cache's location.
Cache is wheelchair and stroller accessible if you arrive from the direction of the station. If arriving from the Royal Mile, you may prefer to continue downhill along the road to the traffic lights, and then access the cache from there: there are quite a lot of steps on the direct route!
You may find that GPS signal at the location is very weak due to building cover; the coordinates are an average of waypoints taken over several days, and will get you close enough that you can use the hint. The cache is between the two waypoints provided: JEFFST (Jeffrey Street) and ROYAL (Royal Mile) where the signal is much better.
Cache meets the GAGB Urban Placement guidelines.
