We all love a good book so this little set of caches are a celebration of our favourite children’s stories.
"There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island." Walt Disney.
‘We’re going on a bear hunt. We’re gonna catch a big one. What a beautiful day. We’re not scared. Uh oh! A forest! A big dark forest. We can’t go over it. We can’t go under it. Oh no. We’ll have to go through it! ..’ (Michael J Rosen)
The Bear Hunt can be found down a little footpath that starts in Chapel Lane in Rode Heath. The village has a number of gentle walks along the canal and through the countryside that are popular with dog walkers.
There are places to park all along Chapel Lane. In Spring and Summer there are often horses to say hello to in the field next to the footpath. This footpath leads to the A50 and a dangerous junction but there is no need to walk anywhere near the main road. The cache can be found on the other side of the fence. There are usually lots of muggles around so stealth is required.
The Bear’s cache is big enough for swaps and a few travel bugs to stay.
