Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Eves Valley Scenic Reserve represents one of the few remaining lowland valley floor forest remnants in the Waimea and Moutere areas. Beech, podocarp and broadleaved species dominate the forest and it is home to several notable species of flora and fauna.
This is a special place to get insight into what the Waimea Basin was like in the early 19th century.
The tracks through the reserve provide a 20 to 30 minute walk. They cross over streams in several places, which will usually provide little challenge, but caution would be needed after significant rainfall.
Suggest you head to waypoint GC3E224 OT. Make your way upstream until you come to a very sharp bend. Don't go round the bend, but hop over the stream and scramble up the little bank. Go right a few paces. - - -And there it is!! Isn't this spot just magic!!
