Geocache Description:

You may not want to hitch your horsey up to it but it would make it easier to find in the dark. Yes, it is another lightpole cache but I thought it would be nice to put one here and tell you about the WKU Ag Center.

It is a basic lightpole cache. How boring is that? But I thought it would be good to bring people here to see the WKU Ag Center and to be honest with you the vineyard that you will pass (or did pass) on the way to the cache.

This area is the WKU Agricultural Center. There are classrooms, conference rooms, meeting rooms, etc. The area around the parking lot the cache is located in is where the WKU equestrian team houses their 30+ horses. Most of these are American Quarter Horses or American Paint Horses. There is a 24 stall barn and a large indoor riding arena. A new barn being built and may by this time be completed.

Take a look on the right hand side of the road on the way in to the cache and you will see a new project started by WKU. The Vineyards were established by faculty and students in 2008 and 2009. The university offered classes in Introduction to Viticulture in the following year. Along with the classroom courses students receive hands on training in vineyard management, pruning, trellis construction, etc. There are approximately 1/2 acre of vines that include varieties such as Concord, Niagara, Villard Blanc, Reliance, Chambourcin, Riesling, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Oh, it is a little tricky, the cache that is. I mean as tricky as you can make a lightpole cache.
