Welcome to the Duke Farms Geotrail

The Duke Farms Geotrail is a unique journey through native habitats and scenic landscapes of the Duke Farms property that invites visitors to use GPS technology to discover and explore the many natural and cultural landmarks found on the grounds.
What is a Geotrail?
A “geotrail” is a series of caches tied together by a common topic or theme to showcase an historic location. Geocachers who complete the DUKE FARMS GEOTRAIL with receive a commemorative Duke Farms Token of their adventure.
Completing the Geotrail
The Duke Farms Geotrail is a geocaching trail consisting of 11 different type geocaches placed around beautiful Duke Farms. Along the Geotrail, visitors will encounter native meadows, woodlands, statues, lakes, fountains with beautiful views of this magnificent property. Geocachers should plan to spend enough time to explore the area while completing the geotrail, the trail is approximately 4 miles and will take a few hours to complete.
GEOCACHERS MUST STOP IN THE DUKE FARMS ORIENTATION CENTER TO OBTAIN A GEOTRAIL BROCHURE FROM THE ATTENDANT AT THE FRONT DESK BEFORE EMBARKING ON THE CHALLENGE. THE GEOTRAIL BROCHURE IS NECESSARY FOR OFFICAL PARTICIPATION AND TO RECEIVE THE TOKEN.
Inside each of the 11 geocaches is a laminated clue card with a specific letter; cachers must collect all the letters from the 11 geocaches to uncover the secret word to complete the brochure. Geocachers must then bring their completed brochures to the Orientation Center redemption site for verification of completion and to receive a commemorative Duke Farms Token.

The Duke Farms Geotrail is designed to be very family-friendly and accessible by the greatest number of people, but they are not all wheelchair accessible.
The Duke Farms Geotrail starts at the Duke Farms Orientation Center, 1112 Duke Parkway West, Hillsborough, NJ 08844. The geotrail has a series of different type caches and some field puzzles, so make sure that you print out the specific cache pages.
Duke Farms Geotrail Cache
To locate the Duke Farms Geotrail Cache, follow the published coordinates for parking at the Orientation Center, there you will pick up the Duke Farms Geotrail brochure and start your adventure. The North and West coordinates for the Duke Farms Geotrail Cache can be found within 2 of the other 10 published Duke Farms Geotrail caches. Remember to look for the secret letters in each of the caches.

Thursday - Tuesday
8:30am to 6pm (Summer)
8:30am ro 4:30pm (Winter)

CACHERS MUST RETURN TO THE DUKE FARMS ORIENTATION CENTER AND PRESENT THEIR COMPLETED BROCHURE WITH THE SECRET WORD TO THE ATTENDANT AT THE FRONT DESK BEFORE RECEIVING THEIR DUKE FARMS GEOTRAIL TOKEN.
These caches are placed by the Duke Farms Foundation, no new caches will be allowed on any Duke Farms Foundation property without first obtaining written permission by the Duke Farms Foundation.
The Duke Farm Geotrail project is an exciting partnership between the Duke Farms Foundation and The Northern New Jersey Cachers, NNJC.org who have partnered and volunteered their time, expertise and assistance and help develop and implement this geotrail.
