This pump supplied Hele with water,in the days when the road next to the pump was the main road between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin.
The water supply is still valued which would explain the two padlocks on the pump!
In front of the pump is the leat that runs to the nearby working water mill.
It is best to park on-street in Hele(no yellow lines) and use the footpath by the bus stop.
