Buffalo'd at Chip Lake will be a family fun event of hunting 30-40 new caches in the most unusual and beautiful terrain.
Those geocachers who have found the “finding rat root” series along the trail have been wanting to have a reason to come back, here is their chance to do it with other cachers.
There are the caches on the Island's of Chip Lake if you have a water craft. The place that we put our canoe in the water is at the cache called “Lobstick River GC1PR7A”
The lake has 13 Islands and is 13 feet deep, so using a fishing boat with a small motor is possible.
You can arrive at the event by water craft as this event is along the shore by the old cabin.

Take a break from caching and meet us for some hamburgers, hotdogs and refreshments. Event time will be 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments will be there compliments of Crafty nana and rat root. If you do not put down a will attend, no burgers for you.
It is a 3 km walk in with minor elevation gain. If you are just staying on the trail.
For those seeking calamus root (Acorus calamus) it is readily available here. We can show you where to harvest it. For those wanting silverweed (Potentilla anserina) to fill your pipe, look down.
