Geocache Description:

April 2016: Hmm... We think this cache has been muggled. Let us know if you do find it!

This is a green ammo box style cache, with room for trackables and swaps. There is a pencil in the cache, so no need to fear if you forgot your pen/pencil. The terrain is sloping, being on the South Downs although easily accessible on foot for the able bodied. It's a quick cache that shouldn’t take too long to find.

The cache is to the West side of Winchester, on Teg Down. A footpath follows a ridge and leads across the downs upon which is located the Royal Winchester Golf Club course. Approx. 500m SW of the cache are some earthworks; these could be of Iron Age origin dating back to the time when Winchester was occupied by a substantial settlement of the Belgae tribe.
