Caching with the Conservancy 2012 Event Cache
WConservancy: Most caches will be available throughout the summer. All coordinates are listed under GEOCACHING at www.westmorelandconservancy.org .The Duff Park and TollHouse caches have been made permanent. There will be a caching hike August 18th at 1PM utilizing the caches at MCP Wetlands, Walter Reserve, White Valley/Walter Connector and MCP.

All-day geocaching and fun for everyone. Caches on 6 Westmoreland Conservancy Properties, 1 Private Historic Location, 3 Municipal Sites. Difficulty: 2, Terrain: 2.5
Don Harrison Community Trail Cache Hike (group/cooperative/team): 5 mile hike, 6 caches. West to East Difficulty level: 1.5. Terrain difficulty: 3. East to West Difficulty level: 1.5. Terrain difficulty: 3.5.

Saturday, June 9, 2012. 7 am - 5 pm Caching, 5:30 pm Picnic by reservation at Townsend Park in Murrysville, PA. This is our 5th year!
All-day geocaching and fun for everyone! Food, raffles, informative talks, hikes and exploration! Pre-register by June 1st for the 5:30 PM picnic. Suggested donation $5 per person. Additional food donations welcome!

Registration will open at 8:20 am.
Registrants will receive an event booklet with temp cache coordinates at that time.
Welcome address at 8:30 am at the Lower Pavilion.
Temporary caches may be done at the participant's leisure.
The booklet will also be available for printing from the Westmoreland Conservancy's cache page
An all day geocaching event including:
Temporary caches: 6 WC Reserves, 1 private Historic Site, 4 Municipal sites, DHCT (6 caches) - Please limit ONE collectible card per temp cache
Temporary caches just for kids - Please limit ONE toy per child per cache. There are no collectible cards in the kids' caches
Expert Speakers throughout the day
11:30 am - 1 pm: Hot Dog Lunch Sponsored by S.L.A.M.
For a group/cooperative caching experience:
9:30 am: Don Harrison Community Trail 5-Mile Cache Hike from Townsend Park to Walter Reserve. Steep hill down. Allow 3 hours. (arrange for carpooling or pick-up)
1:30 pm: Don Harrison Community Trail 5-Mile Cache Hike from Murrysville Dog Park to Townsend Park. Steep hill to climb. Allow 3 hours.
5:30 pm: Picnic
6 pm raffle: Must be present to win.
Please RSVP with the number of attendees (so we have enough food) and what you are planning on bringing (not required, but gratefully accepted as this event relies on donations).
You may wish to bring your own portable chairs
Although you may attend any of the activities and hunt the temporary caches without a reservation, you MUST RSVP by June 1st in order to attend the picnic.
Townsend park is handicapped accessible.
Temporary caches will requires some hiking along well marked trails.
